Dr. Chambers obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in 1992 from the University of Victoria and is a 1998 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Dr. Chambers prides herself on providing extremely thorough internal medicine workups, and does not “cut corners” when it comes to her patients’ health. She lives with her partner and friend, Dave, and her three children. She also has 3 pets, Domino (the sock stealing cat), Nelson (the secret cuddler), Lily (the Golden Retriever who hangs out in her back office) and four rats (Nelly, Abby, Crackers, & Cheeze).
Dr. Carol Harasym
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M)
Dr. Harasym holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Alberta. She worked for several years in medical research before staying home to raise her two daughters. She returned to school to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon when her girls were grown. After graduation Dr. Harasym practiced in Winnipeg; caring for dogs, cats, birds and pocket pets at a small animal clinic and at the University of Manitoba. She has cultivated a special interest in wellness, nutrition, internal medicine and dentistry and finds great pleasure in using her skills to help pets and their people have good lives together. She and her husband have chosen Victoria as their place to live and eventually retire and they love everything about living here. Dr. Harasym is available for Saturday appointments.
Teka joined our team in May 2004, as a temporary replacement, doing odd jobs and reception. In November 2006, she took over the Saturday morning shift and has recently added a few more days a week with us. As an avid animal lover, Teka has had several different pets over the years including hamsters, guinea pigs, turtles, mice, fish, cats and dogs. She currently has Pilsbury Doughboy, her rather large cat as well as, Random Pancakes, her rambunctious kitten, and a boxer cross named Fynnegan, who also thinks he is a cat. In her spare time she enjoys reading, writing children’s stories, playing video games or hanging out with friends.
Amanda has been with our clinic for a year. She brings with her, seven years of experience as a ward nurse at Central Victoria Vet Hospital, our affiliated emergency hospital, where Dr. Chambers does all her surgeries. She is still learning all the faces of our clients, but certainly recognizes many of the pets we treat. Amanda lives with her cat, Cacti, and her retired blood donor dog, Dakota. In her spare time she enjoys playing volleyball, going camping, zip lining and traveling.
Kyla took the Veterinary Office Assistant program at Douglas College in 2010. She has two pets of her own, a black cat named Sammy and a pug cross beagle named Bentley. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, running, summer and spending time with friends/family.
