    Catherine

    Veterinary Office Assistant
Catherine grew up in North Saanich and has had a strong love of animals her entire life. Having had almost every type of pet under the sun at one point or another, it was no surprise to her parents when she started working in a veterinary hospital, while still in high school. Catherine graduated from UVic in 2007 with a BSc in Biology and Environmental Sciences and joined the team at Royal Oak Pet Clinic in 2017. When she’s not working, Catherine spends her time outdoors, enjoying our beautiful island, or volunteering with animal rescue organizations, both locally and internationally. She enjoys traveling and photography, and in the summer months Catherine can often be found on the beach volleyball court.  At home she is ruled by two cats of her own, a special needs forever-foster cat, and any other species of foster pet that needs a temporary home.

    Sarah

    Veterinary Office Assistant
Sarah was born and raised in Victoria but made the move to Alberta several years ago. In early 2017, she made her way back to the island to be near the forest and ocean once again, although this time she brought her three dogs, two cats, a toddler and a fiancé along with her! Sarah always had many family pets, including: rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, degus, dogs, cats, chameleons and fish. Despite being surrounded by animals growing up, Sarah only discovered her passion for veterinary care after completing her Veterinary Assistant course through Vancouver Island University.  In 2013, she volunteered for the Mexi-Can Vet Project spay/neuter clinic in Mexico, where one introverted, personal-space-invading Chihuahua X adopted Sarah. When she’s not working, Sarah spends the majority of her time wrangling her toddler, exploring Vancouver Island, and occasionally enjoying a good book or movie by the fire (when time allows.)

    Teka

    Office Staff
Teka spent a good portion of her early years working with children and youth, but made the shift to veterinary medicine, when she joined our team in 2005. Her love of animals blossomed when she was very young thanks to a cat named Sambo and a dog named Gandalf. Teka has had several different pets over the years, including: hamsters, guinea pigs, turtles, mice, fish, cats and dogs. She is currently managed by two cats, Random Pancakes & Pilsbury Doughboy, and loved by Alistar, her Schnauzer mix. In her spare time, Teka can usually be found at a nearby Tim Hortons reading or visiting with friends.

    Veterinary Assistant
Sherry joined the Royal Oak Pet Clinic team in February of 2017, after graduating from Insignia College where she received her Veterinary Assistant Diploma and Pet First Aid Certification. Sherry grew up in Victoria, where she spent most of her life living and working on horse farms. Her favorite hobbies include riding horses in the summer months and riding her snowboard in the winter. She also loves attending concerts, travelling, and collecting opals. In addition to working in the veterinary field, Sherry hopes to one day display and sell gemstone jewelry at public markets. Sherry adores animals and has owned and cared for a variety of pets throughout her lifetime, including: horses, dogs, cats, coral reef fish, turtles, miniature goats, rabbits, hamsters, iguanas, a hedgehog, and a 4 foot long ball python snake. She is currently a single mother of two lovely teenagers and two cuddly senior orange tabby cats.
